Sellwood Pediatric Patients: Preservative Free Flu Vaccinations Available September 23

If you are a Sellwood Medical Clinic Patient, call our office to schedule your child for their flu vaccination now. The 2011-2012 Flu Vaccine is available after September 23, 2011 and will be preservative free for children under the age of 5. If you have active insurance for your child, we will bill them for the flu vaccination as well as the administration fee per our/your contract. Please be advised that many insurances request that you pay a copay at the time of visit for lab procedures such as immunizations. If you have a question as to whether this copay will be assessed, please call your insurance directly. We will not be giving flu vaccinations to children not registered as patients at the Sellwood Medical Clinic.

We are offering Walk-In Flu Clinic from 10-4 Monday-Friday. The price of the vaccine is $25 and is payable at the time of service in cash, check, or charge. We cannot bill insurance for people who have not established care at the Sellwood Medical Clinic.

NOTE: This year, all Seasonal Flu Vaccinations include the H1N1 vaccine.

 

WHAT IS INFLUENZA?


The "flu" is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting a flu vaccination each year.

Sellwood Medical Clinic is offering flu shots now. Our clinic's supply of these vaccines are regulated by the suppliers and the CDC. Our inventory may change on a daily basis.

Influenza usually starts suddenly and may include the following symptoms:

Having these symptoms does not always mean that you have the flu. Many different illnesses, including the common cold, can have similar symptoms.
